How does suttle think this is going to be enforced?

If work places are going to supposedly collect...how are they supposed to know who lives outside the city limits, but still has an Omaha address?

IF they don't live in Omaha they need to change their address.

Does this apply to people that live outside the city limits, yet still have mail sent to "Omaha, NE"? I live in an SID. I don't get to vote on the mayor, or the city council. I pay for my own garbage, but still have to pay wheel tax, license my dog in Omaha, etc.

Does this commuter fee apply to SID residents outside the city limits? Or is it only people in other cities?

If you already pay the wheel tax you don't have to pay again. It's the same tax, just extended to include those that work in the city but outside of it's jurisdiction zone.

So, if I live in, say, Ralston but work two blocks away in Omaha, do I have to pay?

Yes, if you live outside the city limits of Omaha and work inside the city limits, you have to pay. It will be deducted from your paycheck just as social security, fed/state income tax is.

That's going to be quite the headache for companies trying to determine if their employees live within the city limits or not.

I look forward to graduating college so I can move out of the grasp of Darth Suttle.

Yeah, they are plugging companies with a chunk of money so that they can work out the administrative issues that will come with this. My question is where does they money to pay companies for this come from?

Like anything else, I'm sure it will be an automated payroll feature and a one-time data base set-up.

Though, most small businesses still use old-time payroll methods... it will be a hastle for some, that's for sure.

Maybe Suttle will come out with a tampon tax. Tax all those moody women for one week a month to cover that expense. =)
