She does need help. But if/when she can stand trial she should be prosecuted. No, it wont' bring him back--but it might prevent it from happening to someone else.

Nobody said she shouldn't stand trial. We said she shouldn't receive jail time. There is a huge huge difference. Not everyone convicted of a crime goes to jail. The judge weighs the facts, the person's background, the likelihood of reoccurrence of the act, and the level of culpability of the person and then determines the punishment. Here, it appears that the person needs treatment...not jail time. The judge will likely mandate inpatient treatment. Beyond that, jail is completely pointless here.

if there were suicide notes from both of them and they wanted to do it together, than she shouldnt be serving jail time. help? most definately but not being put in jail where she can suffer even more. if she wants to go then let her. her boyfriend had the easy way out and died but now she is being punished for both of their actions. this isnt right.
