Ever drive down Omaha's streets lately?

See anything different?

See anything kind of crazy?

Omaha has a new monster lurking the streets............

The dancing sign people!!!!!!!!!!

What the heck? These guys are everywhere, dancing and shaking signs in your face. I cannot believe there has not been a news story about all the business's making those people dance around like fools.

Oil Change, Pizza, Gold Buyers and now the Recall people have all made not want to buy anything from that business. The worst was the guys dressed like the Statue of Liberty during tax season.

I'll take a panhandler the next time I stop for a red light.

Rememebr don't make eye contact.

Just one more day and it will be over, and they can go back to their real jobs which are probably a thousand miles away.

Yeah, all of those people working for a paycheck sure are a scourge. I wish they would all just go rob someone...

Not exactly a new thing. Last time the casinos came up for a vote in Omaha when I was accosted by a pro-casino petition collecter outside the DMV I asked him if he lived in Omaha and if he was getting paid. He outright admitted to me he was from Des Moines, and yes---it was just a job to him.

The Oil, Pizza, Tax services and Gold sellers are the most annoying to me. I can live with the political ones since they go away after a few weeks. Going out of buisness ones are annoying too since most of thoes sales go on for months on end.

Pfft, those sign twirlers are a staple here in Florida, not surprising they are cropping up in Omaha now. Nearly every business has one out down here. The funniest one i've seen was for computer repair, the guy had a computer monitor and a foam bat and was 'smashing' the monitor.

Here in Lincoln we have the Paycheck Advance places with people in Chicken Suits standing out front. An out of work neighbor did this on one of those hot humid days we had back in July. It almost killed him! He said he got so hot he almost passed out. The next time he did it he put several 12 ounce plastic water bottles in the deep freeze and wore them in a sling wrapped around his body. He made it through the hottest days of the summer in that Chicken suit until he found a job working on a tar crew working on roofs.
