Just wondering what thoughts everyone has about the possibility/likelihood of additional future development around TD Ameritrade Park in NODO.

I realize there is already quite a lot going on there compared to the rest of the city. However, I sort of expect/hope for some additional high rise and low rise residential and commercial development to take place near the stadium in the future; especially once the CWS has started there.

I agree with billie on more parking is def needed. I think once the CWS and Nighthawks move there for good we're going to see a lot more development and it's a good thing.

so true. that is why there is a need for parking garage near the stadium to be made.

there will be congested parking if they dont build a parking garage to allow more parking space.

The garages need to be used for more than just parking. Street level retail is a must. Some with housing on top of the garage. Maybe have it hidden behind a mixed use development.

A stand alone parking garage will kill development more than help.

I wouldn't expect anything high rise in the area. I would like to see a few different height buildings b/c all of the ones right now/being built are all the same height. Seeing some 6-8 story buildings would be fantastic.

I think a parking garage anywhere in north downtown, hiddin behind anything is a bad idea, just because a parking garage big deal to remove. For now I'd like to see more surface lots in the empty plots of land, that way it wouldn't hold back any development because they are a sinch to remove compared to a garage. I don't think the downtown master plan calls for any garages either... Or Zesto's. Fix? Better public transportation. I know if I ever went to a game down there I'd never drive myself, when there will be a bus driving right at the entrance to the stadium.

I don't think I or anybody else mentioned, maybe, I'm not sure, but Metro is reducing sunday service by one trip in the evening on Sundays. I'm not sure why, but they are also rerouting 4/14 to drive on Cuming to 10th instead of 16th, every day, every trip, and that'll provide the first bus service on 10th street north of Dodge, serving the Qwest Center and the ballpark.

In the long term (15-20 yrs) I would hope to see veiws from the field like you do in Chicago at Wrigley - just on a smaller scale. I think the area could potentially develope into a Wrigleyville type neighborhood as well. I guess time will tell.

It will also be very difficult to move in and out of the area. Why anyone wanted to put it down there is beyond me. I guess people like traffic.

Maybe they were banking on people using their brains and finding another way to get there.
