My first move would be getting 311 involved. The greatest musical act to come out of Omaha should get a prime spot in the inaugural event. They alone would pull in a huge crowd, especially with the locals.

3 Doors Down would be another good act to snag up. They put on a great live show and are popular with both my generation and my parents generation.

The Flaming Lips. Even if you're not a fan, you can't help but have a good time at their shows. They played the 80/35 fest in Des Moines a couple of yrs ago. Was awesome.

The Flaming Lips would be AWESOME. They are simply the best live show I have ever seen. However, with Live Nation running the show I have little hope of this being anything other than a glorified Memorial Park Concert. Here comes Amy Grant, Tony Orlando, Billy Idol, and Kenny Rogers. I hope that they will get RELEVANT acts of all genres. This city does not need another dinosaur act concert, let alone six days of it.

This is a very good idea and I co-sign this.

Metal baby! Give me a full day of good industrial metal. Perhaps even attract some out of country bands like those at the Wacken Open Air festival!!

311 for sure should be involved. same with 3 doors down. love both those bands.

if they have any country acts , I nominate Sugarland or Taylor Swift or Kenny Rogers (who dont love his gambler song)

Although it is just my opinion and a guess, but I think that the collective cultural intellect of this city would say that the greatest musical act to come out of Omaha is Fred Astaire. I know he isnt available.

Would love to see Joshua James. He's from Lincoln and would sell out the new stadium in a second.

Good point, but Astaire was more of an singing actor (both on film and broadway) than a traditional musical act or band so I didn't include him.
