Does anybody know how to get this done? It's a great suggestion, but it seems like the city already decided on MLK Jr.

Anybody know when they'd rename it? I'm so bored of propsed changes, I'll likely be as interested in a new name on the freeway signs as I would be a new skyscraper downtown.

Interstate 80 = Tom Osborne Turnpike. Get ready for it.

Also, they need to renumber North Frwy Interstate 580 like they had before. It's up to interstate standards now post-480/"580" junction construction anyways. As far as a name goes, every city in the nation seems to have an MLK Blvd/Expwy/Frwy. Here in Louisville, it's I-65... the MLK Expressway which goes into the JF Kennedy Bridge across the Ohio.

That's what they ought to name I-180 in lincoln. It's not such a large stretch of interstate to where it would be cheesey, and it would be closer to home.

that would sound great, but I would bet husker fans would demand the whole I-80 system and not some puny stretch of road in Nebraska after Osbourne

on a side note: would naming a dead end street after Bill Calahan or Steve Pederson be much of a stretch?

The street named after Mike Fahey should have been a cul-de-sac as he pretty much just ran in circles his whole term.

actually it should have been a dead end street named after fahey, or a road filled with potholes.

i will btw never recognize webster street as "mike fahey street". it will always be webster street to me

I don't much care what they name the North Expressway. I'll drive on it.

But I'm not sure why they'd even think it necessary to name in after MLK. That just doesn't make a lot of sense to me.
