Boy, talk about a loaded question!

There are tons of good, local restaurants. If you like Steak you have Gorats, Anthony's, Piccolo's, Cascios and a few others. If you want Seafood look to Joe Tess and the Surfside Grille. Dundee Dell has great fish and chips. Don and Millies, Runza and Amigos/Kings Classic are good fast food places. There are many more, but those are the ones that immediately come to mind.

You can also check out this blog for some ideas. Omaha Yum

As for activities, if you're into military/naval history, check out Freedom Park along the banks of the river just southwest of the airport. They have a WWII minesweeper and a training submarine on display there, plus a few aircraft and various other displays. Since the city owns the park now, I believe admission is free.

Spending an afternoon in the old market is never a bad idea. My favorite places to eat down there are M's, Ahmad's, and La Buvette.
