Only for a 2 week visit. I hate this Florida heat... I havent left my home other than to get groceries in about 2 weeks now, how pathetic is that! I hate this place, cant WAIT to move back to Omaha.

But, i'll be back "home" in Nebraska for the 4th of july for 2 weeks!

It's going to be an interesting fourth of July here in Omaha. Sales of fireworks is now allowed as well as almost every form of firework is legal in the state. Both are recently passed legislation along with a third which allows fireworks to be sold up to three days prior to january 1st to be lit off on New Years.

The humidity is rough, but the winters in Florida more than make up for it. The prospect of another Nebraskan winter frightens me. Enjoy your visit, though. It's been a pretty mild late spring/summer, at least temperature wise.

Ah my family is from Bellevue, so we've always (as far as I remember) had some form of fireworks.

Tampa, Florida has the fireworks for new years thing too, that was really weird to be honest.

I'll take a Nebraska winter any day over a Florida summer.

Have a great visit back home. The heats been bad in Jacksonville too, and we've had lovely smoke filled air from the wildfires. They have good fireworks on barges here, and some on the bridges over the St. Johns river. Over at the beaches they take barges out, and you can see them up & down the coast. It's too bad that the fireworks in Omaha won't be the same this year because of flooding.

Have fun! I will be back for a concert the first weekend in August. I just hope the Qwest Center doesn't get flooded or anything.
