Finally made the big move, it's been hot the last few days which is a little bit of a let down, but it's still nothing compared to tampa humidity.

Anyway, what is a good credit union in the area? Free checking/savings, website, direct deposit would be nice.

Not sure about credit unions, but alot of people use First National of Omaha and are happy with them.

I bank with Mutual 1st Federal Credit Union and they're okay. Mutual 1st only has two locations so they rely on shared branching with other credit unions, which brings more hoops to jump through. But the main thing I like about them is their high yield checking account.

SAC and Centris are the two larger credit unions in the area if you like multiple branches. I think SAC even has a high yield checking account as well. I'm sure all credit unions have online banking by now but you'll have to check for checking account fees. I don't pay a regular fee at my bank.

Both SAC and Centris have free, no-strings-attached checking accounts. SAC does have a high-yield checking account but you have to sign up for e-statements and perform 12 debit card transactions a month in order to earn dividends. Here are the websites for more information:

I actually like Alliant Credit Union, even though they don't have any physical branches in Nebraska. If you conduct a lot of your business via online banking and Co-Op ATMs, you should be fine. They also have 24/7 telephone member support, unlike most local credit unions. Here's Alliant's website in case you wanted to check it out:

I have Centris. . They seem pretty good, although since I moved they are not close to me anymore. They need to add a location to my area.. haha

I have been with Centris since it was Bell Federal Credit union ( about 40 years). Both, my wife and I are very happy with them. For what its worth.
