I am getting ready to redo the floors in my home and was wondering should I use the PODS miving and storage company to keep my belongings at my home?

PODS is great if you are just doing local moving and storage... they have a nice warehouse too out SW of Omaha.

I helped move a friends home furnishings recently and they used PODS. It went ok, but it wasn't cheap (but they were long distance moving). If I were going to keep it on-premises, I think I would want something a little more secure. Something like http://www.mobilemini.com/pods-storage-comparison.php although I admit I have never needed to research into cost for them.

Also to consider, the way a PODS truck picks up its pod may require them to roll its expanding wheels over yours or your neighbor's property to grab/drop its load (they put wood planks down, but if that a flowerbed it probably won't save the flowers). Either way, make sure you are aware of local ordinances regarding street or driveway placements of these containers.

The PODS unit doesn't have to be taken off-site necessarily. If you can reasonably secure the box and it's out of the way of the construction crews, I would suggest leaving it in the driveway.
