I understand that. The point is that you tried to take Harshbarj's innocent explanation of why she might have had trouble and tried to make it a divisive issue.

Come on man, be merry and all that!

Being that he threw in this comment for good measure is what gives me the impression he was trying to discredit misdyl.

How do you come to that conclusion? There was a post commenting how it was strange that someone could not navigate Omaha. Harsh gave an explanation for why that might be the case.

Do we really need to keep hammering on this point?

To discredit means to refuse to accept as truth and cause disbelief in the accuracy. He accused her of being from a small town and said even by bicycle he has no problem navigating the streets. That seems like discrediting to me.

And he did none of that. His quote, again. Pay attention to the bold part.

misdyl lives in a small town in Kansas (Andover), so that may be why the streets seem difficult to navigate.

Actually, the one thing I hear from a lot of visitors and transplants who have never been there is that Omaha streets are easy to navigate. I have never heard or seen someone state otherwise until this thread.

If someone thinks Omaha roads are AWFUL to navigate I'd love to see the roads where THEY live.
