Columbus Park is located directly across 480 from Field Club and Hanscom Park. I also believe that it's located just south of Park East. South 28th Street has some beautiful homes on it. A lof of them are pretty nice. There's also a beautiful 19th Century Queen Anne row house on 28th that's been abandoned for years. It breaks my heart to see it. I hope someone restores it soon so it's not torn down!

There are some kind of sad looking homes around 33rd and Hamilton, but would look very good spruced up. It's a little north of Mercer Park I believe and the area's a little down, but I've seen some fixed up houses that look very good. You might join the movement and make that area nicer.

Benson would be good but hard to get real cheap ones there. The area around the main post office wouldn't be bad either. Certain pockets of south Omaha would be ok too but I would suggest you look at the crime stats and the other houses in the area on the Douglas County Assessor's site to get a feel of what houses are worth and selling for in the area. Omaha is a tough city to "flip" in. Housing prices are low compared to the national average, so you won't really see much of a return in investment. I'd say field club is one your best bets if you want to increase the value of the property. I agree with OmahaJosh that Kountz Park and Florence have some beautiful old homes for the price, but they are really only a good deal if you plan on living there yourself. I live along Florence Blvd and have done quite a bit of work to my own home, but more than likely I won't get back what I have put in. These changes were for myself.
