they closed arby's the other day and rumors about BK and other places are leaving at end of the month


anyone heard anything or what is the story with the future of Westroads Mall food court


cause I like going to Subway or BK before going to see a movie for 5 dollars at the Rave Theater on tuesdays

Haven't heard. Maybe BK was afraid of having enough staff to deliver to the entire mall everyday. No idea about Arbys. .

My guess is it will not end up like crossroads. at least not for a very long time. For it to end up like that, there would have to be a very small amount of people visiting the mall and that will not happen any time soon.

Westroads is supposed to see a 30,00 sq foot expansion this summer I guess. Apparently Westroads is seeing record occupancy and sales per square foot.

I wonder if maybe the food court will see "better" fast food than Arby's and BK soon. The nicest mall I have even been to was NorthPark in Dallas and they didn't have fast food like that in their food court. Perhaps it is a sign that Westroads is getting slightly more upscale than it currently is.

The Burger King closing is strange. They are always busy there.

Burger King, Runza, and Arby's all had leases that ended this year. They were all still profitable even at the time of their closing. However, the mall has seen increased traffic the past couple of years and has raised the rent. The Westroads food court maxed out capacity during the holiday season this year. That is good for typically slower and pricier restaurants with higher margins like Sarku and Great Wraps, but bad for places like BK and Arby's who have very small margins. You can expect to see more niche brands move into the place of these places later this year.
