Default Cinco de Mayo Parade!

I shot this with a D800 with a 50mm lens all mounted on a Rhino Steady. A parade was probably not the best place to try the Rhino Steady for the first time, but I was still pleased. This video has a quick cameo by Senate candidate Bob Kerry and a boisterous bunch of Barak Obama supporters

Nebraskan's celebrating Cinco de Mayo. I never thought I would see it. Wake up people, look at the border states and see what happens when you welcome that culture.
Mexicans here in California have told me that Cinco de Mayo is a B.S. holiday and not even recognized in their country. All it means is May the 5th. They laugh at the silly gringos making a big deal out of nothing. They are however very happy to take all of your money that they can.

Neat video of the parade--I think I'll take my family next year!

As for the other garbage--Nebraskans respect hard workers, and I don't want to stereotype, but all of the "new comers" I've seen coming here to work construction and to work in the meat packing industry work their backsides off, and just want a better life for their families. We have some immigrant kids in our school district, and they're all hard workers too. They've earned a warm welcome here, and our respect.

Get back to me in 10 years and let me know how that worked out for you. Better yet talk to some long time residents of Lexington, NE. and ask them what has happened to their city.

Nothing wrong with immigrants who work their tails off, and their children. It's the illegal aliens that we are bothered by.

Well perhaps if the immigration process didn't involved paying more the 10,000 dollars per person and tons of red tape there wouldn't be as many illegal immigrants, but that's another issue isn't it?

The 5th of may is the day Mexico gained independence from Spain, and it is very much a recognized holiday in their country. Aside from christmas and easter, the largest. Troll.

Actually... it's a celebration to commemorate the victory of the Mexican army over the French in 1862. Its only really celebrated in the Mexican state of Puebla, where the battle took place. Otherwise, its mostly an American excuse to get drunk, or a way for Mexican Americans to celebrate their heritage. Mexican Independence day is actually the 16th of September. But yes I agree he is a troll.
