News - Omaha.com

considering omaha nebraska is becoming in last decade or so a IHOP-KC magnet cause a lot of local churches and ministries

are heavily into Mike Bickle

and Bill Johnson

and Cindy Jacobs

like teachings, something like this happening isnt a shocker.

i btw am skeptical of anything the New Apostolic Reformation and Hyper-Charismatic types say including the self-professed healers and "prophets" that seem to come to Omaha a lot

Hm.. when I first read the above, I thought "More Blue Roofs coming to Nebraska (IHOP)?? Kewl!"

Gotta say that these Christians are only doing what The Mainstream Media, Al Gore, and many politicians worldwide are doing - exacerbating and cashing in on the fears and discontent that many people are experiencing, while presenting themselves (or their gods) as ultimate Saviours. There's a lot of money in keeping people terrified - and a lot more money in promising them that they are 'special' and will be saved from the horrors of everyday life. The more emotional and fanatical people become, the less rational thought and common sense they will exhibit - and the more they will pay the charlatans to save them.

I don't care what they do - as long as they don't bother me or mine. They have the right to whip themselves into a frenzy, or whip consenting participants into a frenzy. It's when they step outside of their buildings and start going into State Houses, Congress, the Pentagon, or the White House and demanding that we all must be whipped into the same frenzy, that I cry "Foul!".

I'd really rather they were International Houses of Pancakes, though. Less money for them, but at least the rest of us could go in and come out full of something other than... er... someone else's passion.

What's sad is these peoples religious beliefs are harming this young lady by denying her the medial help she needs. When you believe you know the problem and cure, you don't look for the REAL problem and you don't find the real cure.

Cases like this are why I never buy the claim that religion does no harm! It is in fact one of the most harmful forces in the modern world.

there are 2 IHOP 's

one is the pancake house

the other one is a kansas city based "christian" group that is heavily into signs/wonders and Domionism stuff. sadly many churches are into the KC ihop 's stuff

I myself prefer the pancake house over the IHOP cult in KC anyday

what is sadder is christian leaders on the left and right in Omaha arent rebuking this exorcism non-sense.

But then again most pastors who rebuke the Hyper Charismatic garbage infesting in many churches here in the Omaha area.

It is far from a few churches here peddling Mike Bickle 's so called psychic-like abilities

I remember a church down on L street near 60th that had a funeral service a few years back and believed they could with their minds, could resurrect the dead person from the dead

(was mentioned in the press and the guy didnt come back to life, but the church still peddles Hyper Charismatic and Prosperity Gospel preachers aka the word of faith movement

and many of the IHOP "church" stuff in KC is stuff like that and signs/wonders stuff

btw: it is likely the girl was bi-polar or had some sort of mental disorder.

....when I first read this, I honestly thought you were talking about Int'l House of Pancakes, and Kentucky Fried Chicken. I really need to stop staying up so late, and being out during the day when it's so hideously hot and humid out there!

mostie, a lot of people get Mike Bickle 's IHOP cult mixed up with the Int. House of Pancakes

cause both are called IHOP.

in fact, couple years ago, Int. House of Pancakes sued the IHOP cult for confusing and stealing their name

I remember seeing that on the news. If I remember correctly, a whole bunch of people walked out of the funeral.
