We will be driving through your lovely state in a couple weeks. Was wondering if anyone can personally recommend an affordable (preferably not more then $100/night) CLEAN hotel!?? I've stayed at a few in my own state that leave me nervous about staying in any anywhere!

Thank you kindly

You have a lot of choices. Most hotels in the Omaha area are well maintained. I would recommend going direct to both Marriott and Hilton websites and doing a search across their entire brand of hotels. You will get a lot of good choices.

Call me biased, but I'd recomend you stay at the Holiday Inn Omaha Convention Center off 72nd and I-80. Other than the fact that I happen to work there, the hotel has gone through about $40 million in renovations and upgrades. I'll spare you the sales pitch except to mention a few highlights: rooms were completely re-done w/ new beds, new carpet, new tile, new wallpaper, etc. plus a new Scooter's Coffee Shop in the lobby (my personal favorite) and an overall new attitude!

Depending on when you're coming in the rate could be very reasonable-- feel free to email me-- we'd love to have you!

I stayed at the Econolodge downtown on Douglas for five nights a few weeks back. it was perfectly fine. Not at all fancy, but clean and quiet. It was about $50/night+tax at the AAA rate. Easy walking distance to downtown and the Market.

That place has always been a place that showed its age. I have seen lots of construction over that last couple of years and I know they have the new water park, but is it really upgraded from a rooms perspective. I've always seen it as a tired old hotel. Maybe I need to get back in there sometime to change my viewpoint.

There are several just off I-80. Jennyh told you of just one in this area. I think that you have a Ramada Inn and at one time there was a Howard Johnson. There are several further down I-80 as well by Gretna. This is a smaller community along I-80 just a few more miles from 72nd Street.

Just do a quick search of the different motels in the Omaha area. The post your questions about a certain motel. I for one would avoid anything that would take you downtown if your were just passing through.
