Not that I agree, but to be fair to the religious institutions. They don't believe it is a sin to be another race, many do believe it is a sin to be homosexual.

Many said they would NOT have signed the petitions if they were told it would be public info. People deserve to know this.

ur welcome. btw, I do think

Lifegate Church of Omaha

and King of Kings and Westside and Christ Community Church and a few other churches involved in this ordinance repeal

are doing this for polticial points or other not so pure reasons (i.e. trying to make themselves look conservative to their followers)

cause many are leaving the big churches and going to smaller churches (or leaving christianity) all together and Beauchamp and Dodd and Zehnder and Ashton are all worried if they dont stir up their churches, they may lose members.

(I also wouldnt be surprised if some behind the repeal are making money or have some financial gain to make off the repeal) I am not implying anything, but some of those involved in this have a shady or questionable record so to speak.

Some of these churches could be involved in IRS violations if they are too heavy on the politics.

As soon as any one of those superstitious twirps can prove the existence of their imaginary friend, then and only then should we allow it to color legal decisions.

folks should report them if they do. Christ Community and Lifegate (both willow creek association churches)

and First United Methodist and Countryside Community Church on the left

(which btw all 4 churches seem to believe they speak for all christians in Omaha area) is at times pushing a political agenda on either side politically

surprised none of them have had there tax exempt status yanked.

stay of politics and preach about JESUS and how to live and be more Christ-like is what I say.

btw: unrelated note: any church or ministry in Omaha (this includes the Storehouse Movement and the Omaha HUB)

should read and take a peak at out:

http://aksarbent.blogspot.com/2012/1...py-trance.html

& also:

IHOP KC btw is hevaily involved in Political Activism and new-age like teachings

and some of it's front groups in Omaha like the Omaha HUb and HHOP of Council Bluffs are just as odd as Bickle 's IHOP group in KC.

u should challenge the folks at Omaha Willow Creek Association churches like Christ Community Church or Lifegate or Stonebridge or St. Andrews UMC to that challenge, handbanana

Doubt they would be able to take u up on their offer,

cause Discernment and basic Apologetics is something they long abadoned for their seeker driven movement idols: lust for money, power and huge numbers in their churches.

Nice. Its time we adopt an amendment banning religious beliefs from the decision making processes of the government.

Actually we do have separation of church and state. Also churches want government out of their business, then it's only fair to keep them out of government. Anyway, government should be based on fact, not fantasy. Faith, and or religion, is what gave us the Salem witch trials.

Separation of church and state is a phrase coined by Thomas Jefferson and further interpreted by Supreme Court decision. An amendment would further define and protect separation of church and state by explicitly embedding it in the constitution.

So churches are not supposed to lobby, and try to get their members to vote a certain way or for certain candidates. But it's okay if gay groups lobby, and try to get people to vote a certain way or for certain candidates.

I'd call that hypocrisy, and a double standard.
