Has there ever been a good movie made in Nebraska? About Schmidt and Up in the Air were the most depressing movies in the history of cinema.

btw/for the record:

My Doll on Vimeo

aka My Doll (2013) - IMDb

was short movie recently made in omaha,

so there are movies being made in Omaha. it is sad the media and public dont pay attention to or get more supportive of local film making

not really MountainMan (at least for now)

and that is cause Nebraska (and Omaha is under-looked) for filming.

I mean, we only have dramas. it will be long while before we get a Hangover or Die Hard or Hunger games type movie made in Omaha

and

made the point that Omaha is over-looked for film making

but thankfully there are at least films being made in Omaha that arent Alexander payne projects.

and I think the public should get more supportive and enourage more films (local or hollywood) to be made in Omaha

btw/side note worth sharing

http://netnebraska.org/article/news/...-jobs-nebraska

sadly

This is another level of economics (and creativity) that happens when your State has filming incentives.

Nebraska currently has neither of these things.

nor does Nebraska seem to encourage film making (like other states do)

Nebraska is probably under-looked for filmmaking because the natural conditions aren't right for it. The lighting is really harsh (you always want soft lighting for movies) and the winds are strong and unpredictable (actresses don't want their hair messed up). I don't see anybody of any significance wanting to make movies here.
