He never runs against a real candidate, his opponent in the most recent election was found spending tens of thousands of campaign donations at the casinos in Iowa. To his credit he is one of the few people not swayed by large donors and special interests, he does what he thinks is right for the poorest section of the state that he represents. He has gone off the deep end a little in recent years though. That suing God move was strange.

It's always interesting to watch him harass the establishment, but the guy is about on par with Rev Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton.

In my opinion, Jessie Jackson is a lot more reasonable than Ernie Chambers, at least much happier.

who arent on KPAO 22 as it's called now on cox channel 22.


did cox take them away cause they were too critical of Ben Gray and Pete Festersen and other city leaders?

there are other black politicians in nebraska, though many have the backbone or spunk or charisma that ernie does.



the exception to that:

Justin Wayne https://www.facebook.com/justintwayne (who is the current president of the OPS board) has made a lot of impact.


That and he did what no other OPS board member did, stood up to Sandra Jensen shows he has backbone.



(p.s. glad Drickey and Jensen and Kratky and Huston and Brumfeld and Barretta arent on the board anymore)

but are recent add-ons to the board. time will tell if they have the passion that Justin and Ernie have.

I btw supported Yolanda and voted for her when she ran earlier this year.





Tanya Cook is in the nebraska state senate and represents parts of North Omaha , though she isnt well popular and is a bit wishy-washy and hasnt done anything to show she is tough politican.



Ben Gray is the city council VP in Omaha and he isnt well liked cause he is a bit wishy-washy


that and he has a lot of baggage/controversy around him.




Franklin Thompson is on city council, but he has been Hybels-ized by his "Lifegate" church in west omaha and has no backbone and only is politcally conservative when it becomes a necessity to appease his base.

(side note: not impressed with the 2 new council-members in omaha. they havent said or done anything really to impress me.)

I think Ernie's lawsuit against God was essentially just to prove a point.

I have mixed feelings on the guy, but ultimately he deserves some degree of respect for his passionate pursuit and defenses of his viewpoints.
