I'd rather post to you, Steve.
We don't always agree, but can disagree politely.
..The weapon used was an AK47 assualt rifle!
...Daddy left THAT available so his ex wife and daughters could protect themselves while he was out of town? Yet he locked up his pistols ? And Bellevue/LaVista/Sarpy County aren't known as dangerous areas.
...By some theories, we are all supposed to carry weapons to protect ourselves? That's as scary as having to live in a house with barred windows and doors. Personally, I'd rather avoid 'unsafe' areas and try to live without suspicion and fear. And I DO live in Omaha city limits, near midtown.
...What chance would an 'armed citizen' with a CW (pistol) have against an AK47 anyway, or should everyone carry a rifle with them, even into the mall? You're right, There don't seem to be any way to have stopped that attack.

I agree with that, I don't think an AK47 is a solution for protection!

I also understand the need to have protection, but an AK47?

lol AMEN.

This child was released from the foster care/state system after he made it clear to the people in charge there that he didn't *want* their help, they have been quoted as saying. And, honestly, I can see that happening. People choose to live screwed up lives every day and become indignant when someone wants to 'help' them change. I just wonder what it was that started this young man down that path.

It doesn't change his personal responsibility but I wonder what got him started down this path.
