I plan to attend one for the first time this year but having a hard time deciding which one. I like the variety at Omaha Beerfest but also enjoy the local breweries that will be represented at Benson Beerfest. Any recommendations?

Last year they weren't on the same weekend so I hit both. The local guys are at both and will be this weekend.

I will be going to Benson for the sole reason of them staying away from the Redd's Apple Ale and Shock Top brands that Omaha Beerfest is including. I want to go to an event that will give me the best opportunity to try new a different brews that I can't buy in a 6 pack with screw off tops at the corner gas station.

I did like how Omaha had grass to stand on though, you are on concrete in Benson.

Thanks, Jacob. I'll probably end up at Omaha even though I am more intrigued by the beer selection at Benson.

You will have a great time there. I truly loved it last year, probably find a ride though. Beerfests are dangerous grounds for me.

Really craft beer alone is dangerous grounds for me, I had some 30+ unique beers this weekend between Austin and Dallas. I wish we could get some of those TX beers up here in Omaha. They have some great stuff!

I am headed to Austin in the fall and will be sure to check some of those out. I am a fan of Shiner and would like to do a tour while in the area. I have friends in Austin that wish they could get some of the beers here down there.

I am sure it is a mutual attraction. I am a huge fan of our locals, just like the variety if it is possible. I hit Deep Ellum in Dallas and Austin Beer Works, Adelbert's and Hops and Grain in Austin. I still missed a ton in TX too.

Omaha Beerfest was pretty good last year. I had Jaipur's chili beer. I wish that stuff was canned or bottled. One of the beers that doesn't taste like beer which is usually a plus. Not bitter at all.
