Doing extensive homework before relocating. Does nebraska tax personal property like misssouri? We are in georgia and it has very simple taxes for real estate, vehicles, and income. I know that people in nebraska get hosed on their real estate property txes but it that the worst of it???

^^^ I can't say that Nebr tax has gotten any better however I've never paid more in taxes than when I lived in Nebr. I can only compare this to AZ, but Nebr tax is high, one of the highest that I'm aware of. A friend of mine moved from Nebr and lives in Washington state now where he has also saved money every year with far less tax.

Also a family member who still lives there has a comparable home value as I do in AZ but they pay twice the amount in state property taxes. In fact they're in the process of moving back to WY to save money.

Yes, high taxes but am glad I don't have to live in South Dakota anymore. I think New Jersey has the highest property taxes.

Georgia transplant here. My ad valorem taxes increased by 75% upon moving here. Taxes and service fees also seem to be much higher on certain bills. For instance my cell phone bill increased $11 per month upon moving here with same plan and same provider. Cable and wireless service taxes are a little higher. On the plus side, water, electric and gas are much cheaper here than Georgia. State income taxes seem comparable. In fact, I pay just a little less in state tax here.
