ConAgra employeed 3,000 people in Omaha, most of whom are overpaid considering the work they do. ConAgra padded their bank accounts, put their kids through schools, paid for their homes, cars, or whatever else they wanted to do with money. They gave Omaha the city a bigger exposure worldwide. They have a relatively beautiful campus where the public can come and walk around the lake and feed the ducks.

But the past few years their brands have gotten tired, they struggle to find creative young employees, marketing has been horrible, margins and revenue have been way too low. As soon as they adopted zero based budgeting, they started uncovering the waste, which should have been addressed years ago.

I never saw Jobbers Canyon, but things always seem more rosy in retrospect or from a distance, when you don't have to see the everyday problems, headaches, and blemishes. I suspect if Jobbers Canyon was still there, people would still be considering a teardown, just like they are with the old buildings next to the Holland.

I'm not a ConAgra fan for abandoning the Garden City plant and only doing the bare-minimum with the insurance money after the fire.

Wait, I thought they weren't running a charity? Sure, they were just supporting all the little plebs from Omaha out of their goodwill, right? I'm sure it had nothing to do with a mutual exchange of goods for services from one of the best workforces in the country.

Seriously, are you related to MountainMen?

That we lost Jobbers Canyon for.

Actually it seems that their problems have mainly been from questionable acquisitions.

The only people wanting to tear down those buildings are the people who run the Holland. Pretty much everyone else (including the mayor) are against that idea.
