I worked at OPS for seven years. Every school in OPS has gang activity and it is never dealt as it usually deals with a minority base and the superintendent doesn't want to offend anyone. Graduated from Omaha North in 2001 and had as good of a High School experience as can be expected. As far as gang activity there was very little. You had your usual fights and whatnot.......no real bangers. There were a few wannabes. Maybe if you live in an all white town with a population of two thousand ops could seem like Detroit. Come on folks let's get real. OPS is a good public school system, and Omaha is not a crime ridden hell hole.

If that truly happened, then that is her parents fault, the poor girl is in the middle of this. If her parents are more scared than angry then her parent are not good parents.. Heck, if I had a daughter and if something like that happened, I'd be in jail for assault.

Its stupid to make it look like Crime is only in Omaha, get a life, Omaha's crime rate is lower than average

I don't believe this... being a parent of a teenage girl I can't believe anyone would ignore this happening to their girl - no matter the race... you can believe I would be "picking on the ... kids" - no matter the race.

If it were my daughter there would have been more than pressing charges! And I hardly buy the reverse-racism thing coming from Omaha, maybe Oakland, CA but not Omaha!
