Default moving to Nebraska??

I've taken some heat on this forum-many think my statements regarding taxes here are exaggerated-rather than waste my time or yours, if you are thinking of relocating to "the Good Life" (?) follow this link-

Nebraska Tax Burden Up And Away

It paints a very clear picture of what I've been saying all along.

Eh... small price to pay... to live the Good Life.

As we've said before... the vast majority of your Nebraska property taxes go towards the local schools. We also rank among the very top nationally in standardized test scores. Yes... you do get what you paid for.

Default i agree with stargazer..

Stargazer has a point..

While the property taxes are a bit higher in Nebraska, and with all due respect to CB as I think it is a city on the rise.. This is a great example of you get what you pay for.

CB has a higher crime rate, its largest employers are: bluffs run(dog track and casino), ameristar casino, the other casino, hooters, and then Bass Pro Shop..

Now, don't get me wrong CB is stepping it up and will someday be a formiddable city in the state of Iowa, espcially since they landed the Google data center which is a telling sign that CB is starting to get out of its trailer

Where is the link that shows the average real estate prices across the country? How about cost of living in general? How about the graduation rates and commute times?

There is much much more to choosing a place to live than simply the property taxes!

Bottom line is that after its all said and done you pay about the same amount of property taxes on an equivalent property. Yes, the rates are higher here, but the valuations are lower.

Probably not the link you were thinking of, but this is one of the best overview of the US that I've seen... each state color coded... US Home Prices... not sure of the data source, so won't vouch for accuracy, but I really like their method of presentation... just wish the drill down to county, city, and zip provided the same color coding.
