Default Moving to Omaha - Thankful for great information

I wanted to make a post for 2 reasons the first is that I wanted to really thank everyone on the forums for all of their great information. My wife and myself will be moving to Omaha in the August from New York and all of this information has been invaluable to us to both calm our fears of moving from the north east to the Midwest as well as helping narrow down our housing search. It has been great reading all of the posts about Omaha and nice to get a real feel for the people in the city before we can get there.

The other reason I wanted to post was in hopes to get a little professional information as well. We are moving to Omaha because my wife got an amazing opportunity with Boys Town National Research Hospital which is very exciting but also means that have to leave the current start-up that I am working for and start a new opportunity in Omaha. My background is in Software Development Architecture and Design and I am currently a Product Manager for a "Software as Service" start-up. I am really interested in being able to work for a start up or small software/hi-tech company in Omaha. I was wondering if anyone new of any organizations or groups in Omaha that focus on start-ups and small businesses in the high tech or software industries. I would also be open to meeting any head hunters that may specialize in these areas. Any help anyone could offer would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again for all of the great insight that everyone has already provided through the forum.

I'll have to take a look, but I will let you know that along with biomed, healthcare, bioresearch, there is an abundant amount of IT jobs here, and I honestly, if you have any kind of history in IT or education your going to do well here..

a good place to start is:

Jobs Careerlink Employment

and

Omaha Area job search and jobs posting. Find a high quality employee. Find the perfect job.

Get in touch with two organizations:
(1) AIM Institute and
(2) Peter Kewit Institute at the University of Nebraska
I provided links to both their sites. Both are "in the know" on innovation and start-ups.

Also might get a lead from the local Chamber of Commerces (Omaha and Sarpy County)

In addition to the normal CareerLink, CareerBuilder, and Monster.com websites.
