I have heard about the Gay Village idea but I haven't looked much into it for a while. If we had one I think it would naturally be the south side of DT. That's where almost all of the bars are and there are already lots of gays living in the area.

You are right about Pride though. It can be very hard just to be yourself which is a shame in this country. Some peoples ideology on homosexuals is more in line with the radical muslim groups in the middle east.

Just to make the point clear--not everyone that expresses disapproval on the topic is a violent hater.

I agree not everyone is violent. Most aren't. But it's just something you have to think about in the back of your mind. You never know if doing the wrong thing in public might get you dirty looks or jumped. That's something hetero couples would never have to worry about just walking and holding hands down the street.

I actually had someone follow me home from the bar one night on my way home. Luckily I can handle myself.

I am glad you came out of it safe and OK?
Plains cities need to be more tolerant to varying lifestyles.

Some people think it should be out West, but I agree the South side of DT sounds best. The current hubs (the bars) are located there.

Out west??? Really??? I know many that live far west and for the life of me I don't know why. South DT definitely has the highest concentration of Omaha's gay population though.

Default celebration dates

Aren't the dates wrong for the celebration. Isn't it the 19th and 20th, not the 20th and the 21st?
