Default Bellevue Tower?

Do you think Bellevue will ever get a skyscraper? I don't know much about their downtown area, but I have heard it is kind of junky. Do you think they would get a skyscraper like the one on 72nd and Mercy. The "Omaha Tower" is it's name. It is the only Skyscraper in Central Omaha and is the farthest west skyscraper in Omaha. Not in the next ten years but in the next 20 years. Your thoughts and opinions on a Bellevue skyscraper when they have around 60,000 people hopefully.

Perhaps there is a chance in the distant future of Downtown Omaha spilling into Bellevue but probably not, really I think Blair or Fremont are more likely to become Fort Worth like towns

Don't see a chance. I think along Dodge west of 132nd or LaVista at the I-80 interchange would have the first chance for something that's a bit taller.. oops, forget about the LaVista idea, I just remembered its by the Millard Airport and the hotel that just went in wanted to be taller but the FFA wouldn't let them go any higher - in fact, that might be a consideration in Bellevue as well with the Base.

If there's a taller structure to be built in Bellevue... it would be along the 370 corridor west of Kennedy. But I wouldn't expect to see anything within the next decade. I'm not sure what the tallest building in Bellevue is today... but the new Bellevue Medical Center under construction, must be close, if not it.

Meanwhile... the 84th and Dodge area continues to densify with the forthcoming 80 Dodge project and the Childrens Hospital expansion.

80 Dodge

Children's Hospital expansion

There has also been talk of 12 story condominium at the NWC of 168th and West Dodge (in a multi use development called TriBeDo)

And the Elk Ridge development at 192nd and West Dodge promising some taller suburban structures.

stargazer, a few weeks back I saw where the Omaha city council had specificly approved zoning changes to high-density (I believe residential), I read it on the Omaha city website..

I think those projects (80 dodge already is a go), are going to be realized soon...
