guns do nothing until used..

pit bulls will pant and play, and then attack two year olds..

BIG difference
What exactly does that mean ?

My first guess is that you're saying that people are left with their guards down just prior to the pit bull attacking. But how's that different from someone being surprised immediately before being shot with a gun (often by a child who finds a gun in their parents home, no less) ?

In either case... there's usually a stupid or outright malicious owner involved. Obviously the penalties for negligent use of these implements aren't making a difference... so it's time to ban them entirely.

Certainly... the gun before the pitbull... which accounts for FAR more damage inflicted on our community.

That maybe true stargazer, and you are obviously a very intelligent person (note: NO sarcase, with that said)..

But the reason I say this with many factors that play into that opinion.

1. Stupid people with guns = death, thus guns should be banned too for this reason.
2. Guns will always be around, even if you take them from society
3. Pit bulls will attack DESPITE its owners..

I hate guns, and I love dogs..

I love pit bulls and feel sick that I even have to type this.. I truly believe that dogs and humans through domestication have naturally grown a need and a trust and love for each other (even reckognized with certification of Discovery Channel )

But pit-bulls have an issue, and nobody is 100% certain yet as to why they snap.. Hell, I've snapped myself, but I haven't bitten anybody, lol.

Guns have no other purpose other than to destroy, some will argue that they are a tool, but a tool that 25% of the time is a weapon that destroys many lives and therefore is a bigger problem than pit-bulls..

With that said, pittbulls are unrealiable and are by far the least trust-worthy dog that has by far the highest rate of attack of any dog..

At the same time, I guess 2 year old kids shouldn't be taunting them..

Okay... we're basically on the same page.

ie... it's ridiculous to contemplate a ban on pit bulls... when we have no ban on guns... which are doing far more harm to society, far more indiscriminately.

Being an individual who was attacked by a German Sheppard at the age of four, I think the city placing a ban would be one more step toward communism without citizens voting first. There is no reason at all to interfere with the way a responsible citizen chooses to live their lives just because the some can't handle responsibility. You don't hear nor read about dog attacks other then pit bulls because it does not sell papers and more then likely continue to watch the news after commercial. It always unfortunate when people get attacked, but there are bigger dangers in life to be afraid of. People using cell phones while driving cause more harm then pit bull attacks, so why not complain about them and get them banned as well.

(I'm sure he'd agree)

Some how... I can't imagine the media depriving us of a story of a ****zoo ripping the scalp off of a toddler.

edit: heh, heh... gotta love the censors.

Actually, it's Shih Tzu, but what would I know... I'm a cat person... and you can ban all the dog breeds for all I care.

And communism is most often based on an oligarchy... we are fortunate to have a representative form of government here. If it is the will of the majority of the people's representatives to ban the ownership of pit bulls... and smoking in public places... then I guess I'll accept that.
