Default I've always had fun in Omaha

I have a good friend from Omaha. He briefly lived in California as a teenager before returning to Nebraska. I've been back to Omaha 3 times in the last 10 years to visit and I've always had a great time. I think the night life is great. The first time I visited, he took me to the mall. He told me not be surprised if we're approached by women. I thought no way. He said that it's not like CA, if a girl likes you, she'll say it to your face. Within an hour he was asked on a date. That doesn't happen in CA. The next time I visited, he took me to a club. Women sat at our table and introduced themselves, I couldn't believe it, that NEVER happens out here. At another club, he told me some women invited us to sit at their table, I honestly thought he lying. He wasn't. It was a big culture shock. People just aren't like that in CA. I think Omaha is a great city and the people are wonderful and friendly. Not standoff-ish or snobby. Love Omaha.

Omaha is a cool city. After researching Omaha based on a lot of bashing, I found that the negatives are mostly untrue. You have a nice city in Omaha, Nebraska; don't take it for granted and don't let anyone put you down. I could live there and be VERY happy.

A decent amusement park is one amenity we could really use here. That would go a long ways towards helping shore up the 'brain drain' problem (although recently, we've actually seen a net gain on that front... but we could still use significant improvement). For the life of me, I cannot figure out why someone can't see the 1.2 million people between Omaha and Lincoln as a viable market. Although I understand amusement parks haven't been great money makers as of late as well.

Though it would help, we would draw tourists from Iowa and Eastern Nebraska and other places if it was that good.
