There seems to be a horde of people telling me that Omaha is a nothing to do cow town and there is nothing to do..

Basically being an Omaha-advocate my whole life, I guess its time to find out what I am missing...

Please tell me what I am missing in my life that I can find elsewhere outside of here..

But to answer your question, I could start a list:

Mountains/Beaches/Lakes/Good hiking
A downtown area (that consists of more than 3 tall buildings)
A decent art museum
Historical sites (other than "The mormons passed through here")
A Major Sports franchise
Racial diversity
A large university that can offer cultural opportunities
Freedom from tornados


The zoo gets A++ though.
But, if you're satisfied with your choice to live in Omaha, there's no real reason why you should have to defend that choice. Especially not against random people on the internet.

Racial diversity (Omaha is actually more diverse than the nation -according to Wikipedia. Omaha is 78% white while the United States is 80%)
A large university that can offer cultural opportunities(both University of Nebraska at Omaha and Creighton University offer a wealth of hands-on cultural programs)
Freedom from tornados


The zoo gets A++ though.
But, if you're satisfied with your choice to live in Omaha, there's no real reason why you should have to defend that choice. Especially not against random people on the internet.

So, the more tall buildings a city has, the better it is? Just looks at Detroit, and we have a lot of things downtown, we have a good art museum (Joslyn) and We have plenty of historical stuff, Lewis and Clark landing, Malcolm X's birth place, Gerald R. Ford's birth place etc.
