Sometimes the best way is not to just throw money at it. Libs love to bash republicans because typically, we don't like big gov't programs and hand-outs. That's not because we don't care--but because sometimes just feeding people and not fixing the root problem causes more dependency.

I say typically, because there are exceptions. For example, Bush didn't veto a spending bill the first 6 years of his presidency. The guy likes to spend money, and he's not a fiscal conservative. I wouldn't call McCain one, either.

No, conservatives want to ELIMINATE welfare, social security, medicare, they want to lower the tax for the rich because they shouldn't be punished for being rich..

But I feel differently about the tax for the rich, I mean they live under the same laws as all of us and they 'chose' to be rich and since they decided to live under that lifestyle knowing that they'd pay more then they should! It is tradition to pay more if you make more and it would ruin the sanctity of taxation if we were to change the tax structure..

The tradition to tax rich people more is only about 100 years old.

Think about it though: what helps more? Giving a tax break to a rich guy who might hire a poor guy? Or giving 1/2 that to the poor guy? I'd rather the rich guy hire the poor guy and everyone wins.

Truth be told, the rich folks pay most of the taxes as it is. I'm not saying this because I'm rich...I'm certainly not rich by anyone's standard. My wife doesn't work outside the home (her choice), and we live in a very modest 1400 sq foot house. Our 2 cars are 8 years old each.

Forget pride ... we are giong bankrupt - i read a paper a while back that stated our 1.00 is worth 0.10 of what it was 10 years ago... and guess what - that all started when the republicans came into office again.
We can't feed our own country - but we can go invade other country's to sell the oil to the company dick cheney has such close ties too ... oh sorry i mean we went there to free the iraq people.

When it comes down to it we vote for taxes - neither side does anything major with abortion or any other major moral issue.

Just remember welfare isnt for the poor - its for the rich, anytime you have a unreal balance between the poor and the rich ... the poor start a to fight back. Giving handouts is a way of holding people down, so there life isnt so bad that they want to rebel.

But it's 'their choice' to live that lifestyle, if they choose a different path then they would pay less in taxes..

I would love to take them somewhere else.

Wow, the no mercy rule right? If you are sick and needy you need to be transported and dumped without help..

What a christ like way of dealing with the needy..

I'll make a deal with ya, I'll gladly to take them over to your place. And you can help care for them in a Christ like way.

You can talk the talk, but can you walk the walk?

P.S. When referring to God or Christ, please remember to capitalize (shows respect)

Absolutely, I believe in welfare for those people and so I'd be more than willing to allow our taxes to be raised by a 1% or 2% so that those people don't rot in the elements and be transported and dumped by people like yourself..

So it's "their choice" to make money? Are you suggesting it's a bad thing to be successful and make more money (providing, of course, that they do it legally)?

Huh?
