Cascio's on South 10th Street is a GREAT place -food is excellent and the service is fantastic -never a bad experience and I've been going there for over 25 years.
Greco's Cafe on Blondo street is also a really good place to get Fresh authentic Italian pizza at a decent price. Atmosphere is small and cozy and the people there are friendly and pleasant.
Lil Burro's Mexican food on Capehart Rd in Bellevue - WONDERFUL mexican food -the owners grow a lot of their own vegtables I hear and the food tastes like it. Very nice and comfortable -with a bar.
B&G's on Dodge street -great atmosphere and good for loosemeat sandwiches and waffle fries!
These are a few of my favorite places - some other good food is Petrow's on Center street and Isle Mirada over in Council Bluffs.

10 pages and I just realized that he best kept secret in Omaha is Le Voltaire, out in West O at 156th & Dodge.
Unpretentious French "Bistro" style, so you might see some guys in suits (most likely a business dinner) but mostly you'll see somewhat upscale casual.
The wine list ranges from great value (the owner has connections) to pretty high-end stuff. Hint-Tuesday is half price bottle night, so you can get that $40 gem for $20.
I guess I should mention the food...never been disappointed.

Never heard of it...
Is it a chain or local?
Is it new or has it been around awhile and I just missed it?

Dave, Timber Lodge is a small chain. I think the only one in Omaha is on Maple - around 132nd or 144th - can't remember. I know there are several in Minnesota. It's okay, but I wouldn't number it among my favorites...

I went there yesterday per your recommendation...and YUMMMMM! The best Mexican food I have had in Omaha hands down! AND they had $2.00 margaritas to boot. I am very picky about my margaritas, but these were great.
