I liked it, the atmosphere was cool, it seemed like it was pretty authentic as well.

well, I grew up in a small town in northern Cali where we had only two fast food restaurants (McDonald's and Burger King. We had a Taco Bell there for about a year, until it went out of business, because we already had two local mexican places that were sooooooooooo much better) so I'm used to fresh, fresh, fresh! So when I moved here and found McFoster's Natural Kind Cafe, I fell in love with it. I also love Alvarado's for mexican (and the fact that it's open 24 hours was mindblowing). It was actually the first restaurant I ever went to here.
And when it comes to fast food, to me, nothing beats Sonic. In my opinion their breakfast burritos are to die for.

Haven't looked back through the previous pages but here are some of my favorites:
Bar/Grill: Old Chicago, Dundee Dell, Upstream (all three also have great beer selections)
Mexican: El Aguila (for quick Mexican food, Taco Bueno or Alvarado's)
Fast Food: Don and Millie's, Sonic, Taco Bueno, Runza
Pizza: Sam and Louie's, Godfathers (used to also add Valentino's but hasn't seemed as good lately) I also like the pizza buffet at Cici's but don't go there much due to the crazy atmosphere, families with screaming kids, etc.
Chinese: China Buffet (multiple locations) is good for a quick, filling meal. China Road in Bellevue is good for a "sit-down" experience.
BBQ: Red Zone BBQ is a good price. Also really like Famous Dave's, and keep hearing about a BBQ joint in Benson that I need to get to soon.
Italian: Spezia is pretty good although seemed a little pricey for the portions. If I am hungry for Italian-style food I usually just end up at Old Chicago though... their beer list is among the best in Omaha.
I also really liked Sinbad's at about 87th and Maple but it closed.

Hartland BBQ I think you are talking about in Benson
it is at 54th street near Gallagher Park
great place for BBQ.
I hate Sonic's. I would rather have mcDonald's food than Sonic's and that is saying something.
Indigo Joe's and Dundee Dell, Upstream I am meaning to try sometime.
are they cost more than TGI Friday's or Cheesecake factory or less than those 2 places
(just asking in case I need to bring a few extra dollars than usual)

Upstream is on the pricier side, but the Dundee Dell is more affordable. Their (the Dell's) Fish and Chips are great! I haven't been to Indigo Joe's.

The only thing worth eating at the dell is the fish and chips. Everything else is overpriced bar food, and the make you pay extra for fries. If you want good bar food go to barrets on leavenworth.

Man, some of the recommendations on here have me scratching my head. I can clearly tell that some people who posted have not tasted fresh, good, real food from places like France and California. The only restaurant I can say that is good here in Omaha is Natural Kind Cafe on 38th.

Restaurants don't have to be vegetarian or ethic (California is not foreign in my book, so I'm not sure why you put France and California in the same sentence) to be good. Local restaurants, including fine fare and greasy spoons, are just as good.
Anyway, I just tried Vincenzo's in the Old Market the other day. Very tasty food and an underrated restaurant, in my opinion. I recommend it.
