Default Existing Dog Parks in Papillion and Bellevue

I have heard that Bellevue is looking at building a new dog park.... seems kind of crazy to do that when both Papillion and Bellevue already have one.

I mentioned that to some dog owners and they were all suprised... said they would have been using them if they knew about them. No one I've talked to knew about them.

Bellevue: Existed about a year and is at 23rd & Capehart Rd in the base housing area but is open to the public

Papillion: Existed 2-3 years and is at Walnut Creek (SW corner of 96th & Hwy370). In the main entrance, past the RV camping and turn right on the little rock road (towards the horse trail). That whole fenced in area on your left has a big sign "leash free". That's setaside for free running dogs.

Very nice facilities that are kind of a secret.

I live in Papillion and had no clue there's a dog park here. I don't really like dog parks, but I guess it's good to know we have one.

Doesn't even look like a dog park - its a very natural area in Walnut Creek, except has the fence and a sign that says "leash free" area.... not widely advertised and not a lot of people seem to be aware of it...

It's probably best if people don't know about it! I'll have to check it out sometime.

Go in the main entrance (off of Schram, not off of 90th)... drive past the RV camping and then off to the left is a small gravel road.. turn there - the dog park is to your left, drive away's down the gravel and you get to the parking and the break in the fence...

if you miss the turn onto the gravel road then you are just headed to the main parking and the boat ramp.
