Until the American people wake up and realize there are more than 2 parties out there, it's pretty much hopeless, and I'm not holding my breath for that to ever happen.

Actually....I'm seriously considering going 3rd party for the first time in my life.

So it's because he looks good, speaks well, and is likeable? Funny...but when McCain pulled Palin in to be the VP candidate she got attacked for not actually having any relevant experience. Guess it doesn't matter if you're a democrat?

hardly. Obama is inteligent, and articulate. Something he and Palin don't have in common. I respect Senator McCain very much, but find it increasingly difficult to do so with his running-mate. Obama is qualified through what he has done and, in my opinion, what his plans outline for our country's future. I want to give the democrats another crack at the white house, and I feel Obama is the best person to implement their plans wisely and with the right restraint.

Beyond this, there is no downside to having a presidential candidate who radiates confidence and inteligence. Using this, I think he would have more effective diplomacy, and better level with the american people. It would also serve as a role-model to younger people in our country that anything is possible, and that their vote does indeed matter.

You asked me what seperated him from other democrats, and besides more minor differences in policy, the way he behaves and carries himself are the most noticable differences. Either way, I would rather have someone who rarely sways from a democratic stance than have someone who can't step out from under Bush's shadow.

I don't know how anyone could actually take Palin seriously, not only that she's scary as hell. I might be a woman but I don't need a woman in office to make me feel any more liberated. Everything out of her mouth and most republicans is Fear, Terrorists, Terrorism, Fear, 911, 911, Fear, Terrorists, Terrorism.... it never ends. Again, Obama 08'.

Amen to that.

I was still unsure of who I was going to vote for because I wasn't an Obama fan and McCain didn't do anything for me either. But since McCain trotted Palin out it's scared me far, far, FAR away from voting for him and sent me running to Obama/Biden. Palin scares the **** out of me. I watched her speech in Omaha last night and all it is is terrorism, fear, Joe Six-Pack, drill, terrorism. Plus she actually believes all of that relegious christian non-sense and that's what really frightens me about her.

LOL. Wow. Talk about character assassination.

What's interesting is that she had a record of bipartisanship as a governor in Alaska. She's not just some nut-job that is clinging to guns and religion.

That's what bugs me...you got a guy that votes democrat 96% of the time. He takes his marching orders from Pelosi and the gang. He rose to prominence because of a liberal nut-job billionaire (George Soros) annointing him back in 2004. His "movement" has almost become a religion of its own.

Then when McCain brings in a VP candidate that is arguably as experienced or more than the junior senator from Illinois, the personal attacks start.

If you want more of the same--fine. Vote Obama. But things are not going to change.

Obama is a Democrat so of course he's going to vote democrat most of the time. Just like I expect that McCain has voted Republican most of the time because he's a reupublican. That's what they were elected to do is vote along party lines. I don't know why everyone has such a problem with that.

And Palin isn't being annointed by some millionaires and racheting up some radical following? Please. The Right has been decrying Obama's lack of experience and then they pick someone for the #2 job on the planet that says her foreign policy experience comes from "seeing" another country? And then when she gets called on it and how little experience she does have, she blows it off as a joke and calls it liberal spin.

This isn't a joke. She's a vice presidential candidate. If someone asks you a question the whole world is going to see then answer the question right and the way you mean it the first time.

And you talk about things staying the same with Obama? You contradict yourself. If you think he's really a puppet of the Palosi wing of the party with a Democrat house and things are going to stay the same you're delusional.

Palin knows a thing or two about character assination. Trying to link strong ties between Obama and a former domestic terrorist have been debunked but I don't think that's going to stop Joe Six-Pack or Hockey Mom from making an ill informed decision at the polls.

Sarah Palin is the best and worst thing to happen to the GOP right now. If you're one of the far right leaners you're at the Palin alter daily. If you're a moderately right leaner then hopefully you will be a bit more willing to take a look and see how the current administration is failing and how a McCail/Palin administration will just be more of the past 8 years if not worse.

How is it more of the same if Obama is elected?

Name something, besides this new found renewable energy stance he just started talking about and torture, that McCain differs from the Bush administration on.

Oh, I guess he also doesn't support timelines for withdraw in Iraq, unlike the Bush administration and Obama.

And, by the way, people attacked Palin because in the only interview she granted in the 1st month, she made a complete ass out of herself with her limited knowledge on any issue asked of her.

Comparing her to Obama, who has outlined policy agenda for 18 months, in many interviews, is nuts.

And you don't think Obama proposing massive renewable energy incentives helps Nebraska's economy??? (think wind power)

And let's finally address why congress' ratings are so low. It's not because people want more Republican B.S. It's because the dems were voted into office to change the Republican B.S. and haven't done it. And they haven't because they don't have the votes yet (will change in November)

Read "What's the Matter with Kansas" to get a better idea of why middle class Nebraskan's, against every resonable argument, vote Republican.

Harry Truman once said, "How many times do you have to get hit on the head with a hammer before you realize who's hitting you." It applies to Nebraska.

How is it more? Do you like what Nancy Pelosi and the rest of congress has been doing? Obama votes with them 96% of the time, and has the distinction of being named the most liberal member of congress. He even refused to vote to give protection to a baby that survived an abortion attempt and was born alive.

Make excuses for the dems if you want, but I'm still waiting for Pelosi's first 100 days that were going to be so grand.

And yes--people are attacking Palin with a hatred I haven't seen in awhile. She's the VP...not the prez. Maybe she didn't have the administration's policies down 100% immediately--it took obama a year after announcing he was running to determine his platform. The only thing we've heard about, for the most part, is "Change". Sure, he throws out a few buzzwords, and catch phrases like "lower taxes for the middle class" (who doesn't want lower taxes?).

Actually though...there will be some change. Stuff like higher taxes and income redistribution.

If you like socialism, vote obama in 08.
