Yeah really, thanks DTO.

Omaha is very cultural, even more so than many other cities I have visited. How is the Santa Lucia Festival, Cinco de Mayo or Juneteenth Celebration in North Omaha not cultural?

As for happygolucky's list of things to do... I haven't even done over half of those things and I was never bored in Omaha.

IMO there are far far too many of the following....Wal-Mart, Target, Lowes, ETC. Malls, Walgreens Fast food and overpriced franchise restaurants (the sight of Applebee's makes me furious), and half ass franchise restaurants like chipotle, noodles and co., Strip Malls, Office Strip Malls, Gas stations, coffee franchises, unnecessary number of shopping malls, and most of all these horrid developments chained together that all look identical with names like Trendwood (real one), Nelson's Creek, Linden Estates and so on...

The most real of Omaha is from 72nd to Downtown I says. Ill never move any further than 72nd.

Amen to both points. But to be fair you will find the same amounts of hokey "Trendwood" suburban shlok in any major city in America. How I loathe going through suburban Chicago. It will make you long for west Omaha.

He should come down here to the Clearwater/St.Petersburg area. Very few independently owned restraurants here and the ones that are, are usually low scale diners or family cafes. Not to mention most of them are closed by 9pm

I had a much easier time finding independently owned businesses in Omaha, both restraurants and otherwise.

There are also great museums, trails for biking, camping and lakes nearby, and wineries.

So, if you don't do any of the things you or I have mentioned, what city does have the "cultural" experience that would keep you from being bored?

Motorcycles are a big part of our lives in Omaha. My wife and I collect and ride antique and new motorcycles. When the weather is too cold to ride we work on restorations. I have to admit that if you wait for activities to come to you it can get pretty boring, but if you decide to make your own fun there's a lot to do.
