So what do all of you do for fun?
Hello everyone! I will be moving to Omaha in early 2009 and although I am from California I don't live much of a crazy Los Angeles lifestyle.
I'm curious and would like to know what do all of you do for fun throughout the year? What's a typical weekend for anyone?
Your feedback is appreciated. Thank you!

Typically I don't like to spend any money, so my friends and I will browse around the old market for the atmosphere, sometimes they have free events downtown that we'll go to. Otherwise, if I'm feeling a bit looser with my wallet, I have gone to several events at the qwest center, and attended the CWS last minute in the summer... There's plenty to do, plenty that I don't even bother with because I'm happy enough already. However, coming from LA, you might notice a bit of a drop-off in the number of ammenities, either way, it's never tough to find something to do...

A normal Friday for me is easy to get started especially since I live Downtown. After work I sometimes don't get home until 3 or 4 the next morning. I usually get together with friends from work and my other friends will all meet up and we go to dinner, get drinks, and if we have enough of girls with us we'll usually go dancing. Since most of my friends live Downtown we usually all meet up at someone else's house after the bars close.
Saturday's are usually pretty lazy in the day but there are lots of fests and other things that are free going on that I like to catch.

Contrary to popular belief...cows don't tip over when you push 'em.
What's your lifestyle? Married? Single? 20 years old? 50?
Are you into the club scene? Sports?

Yeah that would help to know.
Omaha is def a great place to go out to eat, plenty of options from all over the globe, a few good breweries, museums are always fun for me atleast, pretty much all months but the winter ones you can catch all kinds of festivals. Jazz on the Green, Taste of Omaha, Summer Arts Festival and so much more. Im not much of a sports person so cant help you out there, alot of golf courses, lake activities, trails...kids stuff if u have kids... uhhh gambling right across the river.

Get drunk and go to shows. Omaha has one of the best music scenes in the country.

The area I live in (Papillion), from early spring to early fall, has at least one free cultural event almost every weekend (if not two during the summer)... could be a concert in the park each Sunday, a concert at the center of the outdoor mall each Friday, an outdoor movie or a play at the outdoor amphitheatre... we are almost always taking advantage of those events...
