A person expressing hope for a better future is funny ?

How does appointing a forceful Centrist Democrat equate to "Chicago Politics" ? Do you even know what that means ?

Every president has appointed someone to Chief of Staff that they think can get things done. That is the nature of the position....

He's hardly a "centrist" any more than obama is. They're both leftists. Emmanuel is known for being a forceful guy. Several news sources said he has "sharp elbows".

Obama is literally the most liberal member of congress...this doesn't make him a "centrist".

Seriously, that's just a talking point. Its not really true.

I'll tell you what, Obama is not nearly liberal enough for my liking.

from Media Matters - Buchanan simply asserted Obama has "most liberal voting record in the United States Senate"

"Summary: MSNBC political analyst Pat Buchanan claimed that if Sen. Barack Obama (IL) wins the Democratic presidential nomination, Republicans will "tear him apart because ... he has the most liberal voting record in the United States Senate." Buchanan was presumably referencing the National Journal's 2007 vote rankings that claimed Obama was the "most liberal senator in 2007," but he did not mention that the Journal changed its methodology and has acknowledged a flaw in a previous vote rating. Buchanan also did not note a study that ranked Obama as tied with Sen. Joe Biden as the 10th "most liberal" senator last year."

We'll see. Give him a year, and let's see what he does.

His voting record is definitely not centrist.
