Hi,

I have a 18 yr old son who is not good at social skill. Is there any program or activity here in Omaha that will help him to improve his self confidence and social skill?

Volunteering with social clubs is probably one of the best - a person begins to give of themselves, help a higher cause, and interact with others - does wonders...

Toastmasters actually sometimes has clubs for older teens - not sure if they exist in Omaha, but fantastic program...

Speech class at the local community college... amazing what learning with a bunch of others that are freaked out does...

Well, yes...

Church groups.
Part time jobs.
College Extracurricular activities.
Go work out.
Judo Class.
Go walking.
Get a job selling anything.
Set Goals.
Turn off the Xbox.
Turn off the computer.
Volunteer at a hospital.
Volunteer at a nursing home.
Volunteer for the Omaha Police Department.
Take up a sport.
Do anything that involves not sitting at home watching TV, playing video games, playing on the computer. Find out what motivates him or her and go with that.

So many of my freinds have the same problem with their kids.
Asuming he is not mentally disabled.

bryan, what do you mean, he isn't good at social skills and self confidence? Does he work, are you talking about manners or being able to communicate? Answers to these questions will help others help you.
