We will be relocating for school purposes. My husband will be looking for work. Can anyone recommend any good paying jobs? Good companies? Exa: In Denver Coors is a high paying employer.

Also can anyone inform me of a decent place to live? We will be renting. Are there any good rental websites? Property Management sites?

Thanks in advance!!

Well, what does your husband do? There are a wide range of jobs available here but without good info we can't recommend any of them.

Well he's in Law Enforcement. But it takes months to be hired by an agency.

the Omaha police department does need new officers so it sounds like he'll be fine, unless he's a security guard or something, then who knows what that job market's like.

He has worked for the Sheriffs Office in the jail system. We were just looking for something right now. Any LE Agency conducts thorough backgrounds which can take two to four months.

Omaha PD will be accepting applications in January.

Morrow & Associates does the testing for some of the smaller departments, like Bellevue, Papillion and Council Bluffs as well as the Douglas County Sheriffs Department.

I'd say take a look at local security teams for retail that take themselves seriously. A job as Borshiems security, or something like that. I currently work security at Target, and I love my job. I work with two former MP's and they both seem to really like the work. Target doesn't appear to be hiring, but I'm sure you could find a place that is. Westroads or Oakview Malls, Nebraska Furniture Mart....

I would also look into corrections with Potawatomie, Sarpy or Douglas counties. They have decent starting pay and are usually hiring.

I think Council Bluffs (Pottawattamie County) is looking for jailers... Douglas County just took over the jail functions from City of Omaha so might have created a few opportunities... Sarpy County is doing some kind of expansion in their county complex over by the jail so might check with them...

The above about Morrow is a great idea, they do the testing for a lot of the local law enforcement agencies.

Some of the large corporations have very serious enforcement staffs... First National Bank, First Data, Yahoo, Union Pacific, Mutual, etc...

Just so you know.... security guards at the mall don't make squat.
