We're moving to Omaha and are just curious.

Thanks!

Yes.

And welcome to Omaha, by the way. I think you'll love it.

I also understand that tags are pretty expensive. Is that true?

Compared to other states, especially South Dakota, it is high. It also depends on your vehicle. On new cars its really high, I pay over 300 on my 07. Older cars though it is a little more resonable.

Note: This is in Central Nebraska, not Omaha.

I paid $400 for my '07. Nebraska blows in that regard.

We have an '02 pickup and an '06 Highlander and paid $378 for taxes/registration/tags or thereabouts, when we moved here in May... The weird thing (to me) is that they issue you a new State title for the vehicle when you come in from out of state. All of the other places I've lived you kept your old title, they just annotated where it was issued. We're in Central NE too, though, not near Omaha.
