DTO, you've got to be kidding me. 33rd and Ames? Come in...nobody wants that for their families.

I don't think it's bad. It's a well lit highly visible area. Not an ideal place for crimes and it's right by a police station. That was probably one of the quietest places we've ever lived.

This is the same intersection the crazy homeless man hangs out at, right? (not that he's a danger, I've never heard of him being anyway)

Just making sure I have the right intersection. (I think there's a McDonalds there).

With that said, my "point being", it's not a safe area. Plain and simple. 30th and Ames is not and has never really been safe in recent history.

That Mcdonals (right next to the police station) and the First National Bank on the opposite corner has been robbed several times. 33rd and Ames is also a couple blocks east of the so called "barber shop" where they've ben caught moving drugs.

It's also dead center on Omaha's 2008 homicide map.

Doesn't change my perception of it though. I think there are places much worse than 30th and Ames. I wouldn't have any problem walking through that area at night.
