I tried looking everywhere to give me an average number of "sunny days" (which i lumped clear and partly cloudy as a "sunny day") by city and here is what I found. I could not find a single source to confirm that there were 300 sunny days a year in Denver. The most I could find was 245 "sunny days" in Denver compared to 216 "sunny days" in Omaha a difference in about 30 days a year or about 2-3 days a month. Granted that is more Sunny Days than Omaha but not earth shattering. When visting my in-laws in Saginaw Michigan it is always cloudy and I looked up that place and they have considerably less sunny days. Will not argue about the wind, it is really windy in Omaha, makes golf more challenging.

I think there is plenty of outdoor recreation in Omaha for a non-mountainous landlocked city ie plenty of bike and walking trails, golf courses, parks, etc. Granted, there is mountain activities in Colorado but the skiers in Denver I know only go a few times a year because of the expense and it is still over an hour drive to the "good" ski hills ie Vail, Beaver Creek, Copper Mountain, Keystone. The mountains are very pretty to look at though and do help the people in Denver know which way is West. My friends from Denver that went to college with me always joked about direction because there were no mountains from which to reference in Omaha.

The idea that there is less property crime in Denver than Omaha is a joke and I will not get into statistics.

Yeah, Omaha is pretty windy and Denver averages 1.9 less mph windspeed, which reveals to me that Denver experiences just a little less wind at best..

Well... Regardless of technicalities, the closer to the river you are - in Omaha - the more trees and hills there are. So while the wind might be blowing over us, it's not so bad.

Basically, I think it's kind of silly to compare Denver to Omaha isn't it? I love living in Omaha, and don't have to disparage Denver to justify the fact that I like living here.

To each his own.

I don't think I made any statements of opinion about Denver other than skiing being expensive ( a bargain is around $50-$60 for a one day pass.) Everything else were just statistical facts. I like Denver, it is a nice and fun place, I just think there was some misinformation given above about both Omaha and Denver. About people in Denver not knowing directions, that was a joke. The people in Denver are bright enough to know directions without the mountains.

Funny that people from cities think Omaha is full of hicks and cows. Folks from western Nebraska think it's a crime filled hole of sin and depravity.
