The best/worst place to work in Omaha!!!!!!
If PayPal wins the best place to work in Omaha, that is a lie...
Word on the street says it is a very hostile work place, employees are afraid for their jobs, management is slashing and cutting departments to the bone.
Yes they get .50 cent pop, yes they have a basketball court, yes they have a Starbucks on site, yes they have a lake to walk around. But when managment is watching you every second and and write you up for not moving your mouse for 2 minutes........ it's all for not.
Think of PayPal as a 19th century sweat shop.
Any thoughts?

I've heard from a former senior person that it wasn't the best. But also know of others that are in various levels that love it.
From a corporate perspective, probably the worst in the Omaha metro is InfoUSA. They have executive managers that don't make it more than a year.

That is very common anywhere you are in Omaha at this time... I have no idea about the rest. I've never heard anything bad.

I can give a perspect as I once had worked there a few years back..
If you have a good manager (supervisor), then you cannot fail!
If you have a bad manager, or in my case hostile, then be ready to be completely miserable and having to help coworkers calm down after 20 minutes of crying in frustration.
I know PayPal is a great place to work, but a bad boss can easily take back any good that comes from it..
I'll tell you this.. I work for a company now that with a bad performing manager, you can talk to the floor manager and he/she WILL do something or at least investigate. At PayPal, they completely trust their managers with little or no observance.

I've heard Raytheon is a great place to work. I don't personally know anyone who's worked there, but I've read plenty of stories about how great the company is.

I worked at PayPal for three years and absolutely loved the first couple. This was when the company was still small and at the Z-92 building. I still remember it as the best place I ever worked. PayPal was a completely different company than the one that exists there today (post-eBay acquisition). I'll second the earlier comment that it depends on the manager and that is true. While I'm glad to have moved on (and glad that I sold those stock options), my memories are good for the most part and I miss what it was.
