Default Any thoughts on Keystone neighborhood?

We just moved to Omaha and bought a home in the Keystone area. Seems to me like this area is kind of a hidden treasure that most folks don't talk about. Does anyone here have any thoughts or experiences with the keystone area?? (90th on the west, 72nd on the east, Fort & Military on the North and Maple on the south)

That's cool I think my neighbors a couple houses down are gay. Eventhough I'm straight my wife and I enjoy hanging with gay couples. They tend to know how to laugh and have a good time!!! Do your friends like to babysit??

Not too bad of an area. I actually lived in Keystone for a year or so. The neighbors were a bit snooty. The neighborhood covenant caused issues for my roommate, who was a little bit redneck. He had some non-running vehicles in the driveway that got towed.

keystone is a great area.

it is within minutes of sorenson park plaza on 72nd street

plus the keystone trail (the best trail IMO in Omaha starts in the Keystone area

why they refuse to have the keystone trail go north

between fort street and Omaha northwest high area I will never know

I agree the trail should continue north, I see no reason why it should not...

The City of Omaha seems to care about two areas: Downtown, and Out West.

All other areas of the city seem to get neglected. As we speak, there's a GIANT hole on Fontanelle Blvd, just north of Sorsensen Parkway. It's about 1' deep, and extends from the curb half-way out into the north-bound lane. It would cause SERIOUS damage to any vehicle that hit it.

About a month ago, the City came and stuck a sawhorse with a flasher in the hole. They've done absolutely NOTHING since then.

THAT is an example of how certain areas of Omaha get attention, and certain get neglect.

cause The City of Omaha seems to care about two areas: Downtown, and Out West.
