I'm more likely to move to Omaha now...and I was wondering if anyone had ideas for rental townhomes or has seen ads for them on the south side of omaha? Preferably near US 75. Also, on the south side of council bluffs off of 29 is an option.

My ideal place is a townhome so it would be easier to housetrain a dog (I'm looking to get a siberian husky)...and I'd like to suburbanish qualities of a townhome. I've found a few nice condos downtown, but I don't quite yet know how safe it is (both are off of S 16th and S 19th streets...south of douglas)....nor am I quite yet sure about housetraining a dog where I have to come down to a sidewalk from the 9th floor of a building. lol

Any thoughts/help/suggestions? Having a safe area and being close to a park would also be nice

Townhomes aren't very common in Omaha, though there are some. Check out the Rows at SoMa (south of the Old Market). The Giovanna (nearby in Little Italy). There are quite a few going up at the new Aksarben Villiage (10 minutes west of Downtown), although it's a little outside of the area you want.

thanks for the help...but I really need rentals, rather than to buy.

I am realtor in the Omaha, NE area and would be happy to help you look at prospective townhomes for rent on the south side. If you go to http://www.kallanahorton.net where you can securely submit your contact information. I can then search based upon what you are looking for and have the system email you results.

Featherstone Townhomes in Council Bluffs right off I-29 and 35th St. Its not really southside but its not North either. I live in the area and it only takes about 5 mins to get to Old Market/downtown Omaha!

Seldin - Residential - FEATHERSTONE

They accept section 8 and have their own sliding scale if you are low income.
