I would agree with that, provided you were correctly defining North Omaha rather than the whole northeast quadrant.

And therein lies the problem of sheer ignorance.

Shoot, ALL the crime in Omaha is in North Omaha, if you think that North Omaha is everything north of Papillion and east of Elkhorn.

And guess what? I have had absolutely no problems of any kind whatsoever. Shoot, not only do I not lock my garage, I don't even take the keys out of my truck at night.

And you still haven't explained away that FACT that Millard North High School is known as a major illegal drug center.

I bet you don't do that. Of course, being a paranoid West O resident, you can't. You do, after all, live far too close to the social riff-raff you love to disparage. Bottom line: I would rather live by my neighbors than by you.
Actually in my neighborhood on 168th an Center I have 7 trees in my backyard and 1 in my front all of which are very tall (30-40+ ft.)

And Gimme a break, every school has illegal drug issues, but they are not as large as some would like to think.

Yes North O has its issues, but they aren't huge ones, and that part of town is still nice, every part of this city is unique and nice in its own way.

And though some of the houses in my neighborhood look the same outside, on the inside the floor plans are dramatically different.

I understand all that. But that wasn't really the point I was making.

Your advice just shows your ignorance of this city. Who cares about crime rates? It's Omaha not South Central Los Angeles. Crime happens in Southwest Omaha, maybe not as much but if you stay out of ghetto's you'll be fine. Very few places East of 72nd are in fact ghetto's.
Have you been to North Omaha lately?

Again people the the thread is neighborhoods to STAY AWAY from.

Stop painiting a picture for these out of towners that want a good safe neighborhood in Omaha.

TELL THE TRUTH FOR ONCE.

If a bed and breakfast is what you want to create, I would suggest Blair, Bennington or Fort Calhoun. The whole point of a B&B is to "get away" right? Who wants to get away in the middle of the city? These community are only about 20-30 minutes away, but have charming older homes and are just far enough away from all the noise of the city. Plus -- stay out of the city to avoid the higher taxes that are coming in about 3 years.

Weirdly enough, just this morning I was talking to a lady who wants to purchase one of the old buildings and open a B&B just to the south of The Old Market.

And even more weird is that, after listening to her business plan and vision, I think it could work.

Highlight the historic significance of the area, preserve the old essence of the building while modernizing it, and aim for a niche market.

Not my idea of a Bed & Breakfast, but it could be very cool.

1) Why did you just now respond to a post from almost a year ago?

2) Everything YMan said was factual, and your posts suck as much as they always have.
