Default 30th & Lake

I just drove down North 30th Street this morning, on my way to see a family member at Creighton (For those of you in West Omaha, yes, I dodged bullets the whole way. It was like a shoot-out at the OK Coral, but I'm still alive... ).

Anyway, they're tearing down all those awful tenement apartment houses on 30th, between Lake & Parker. It's about time!

Anybody know if there are future building plans for that area? Any idea what's going on?

Don't know what's going on but it is good to see that there must be some investment going on in that part of town.

Yeah, I hope so. But I'm not sure.

They HAD to get those things torn down. Not only were they an eyesore, they were a hazard.

I just hope they don't turn into big, open, weedy messes.

Are you referring to the apartments on the west side of 30th between Parker and Lindsay Ave?

Much needed reconstruction in that area. I lived down there several years ago for about a year, and it really scared the heck out me at night.

They're on both the east and west sides of 30th Street. Parker is the south side of them.

The buildings on the east side are already gone. I am assuming (hoping) that they'll remove the ones on the other side of the street as well.

Sweet! Good news for north Omaha. The 30th street corridor is a cool area!
