it better be used 365 days a year

cause it will take us decades to pay off Fahey's stadium

I don't think it's the city of Omaha's perogative to get involved in movie ticket prices. If the owners of the theaters don't feel the need for a discount club then it's up to them, not the city.

Also if you don't see the direct connection between not spending money in Omaha establishments and the tax money the city collects than it is you who have hit a brick wall. It's not just movie tickets. It's where you buy groceries, where you shop, where you get your hair cut, where you get gas. If you live in Omaha it's better for you to spend money where you live because you will see the benefits of it. If you don't then you'll see the negative affects as we are now.

I don't know why the city is always silent on this. Every year for the past few years they've been saying that sales tax reciepts are down. That's one of the easiest things to remedy. Don't shop outside of Omaha and you won't have to worry about involuntary tax increases.

Movie tickets have nothing to do with it, $9 (if not more) is the going rate in pretty much every major city.
